Chelsea Brownstone is a luxury townhouse renovation in downtown New York City, reimagining a historic brownstone for modern urban living. The design preserves the building’s architectural character while introducing contemporary elements that improve functionality, light, and spatial flow.
As architect, construction manager, and owner’s representative, I led the project from concept through construction. Working within the constraints of an existing structure in a dense urban setting required close coordination with engineers, consultants, and specialized trades to ensure precision, efficiency, regulatory compliance, and fidelity to the design vision.
The residence combines restored historic details with modern updates, including reconfigured layouts, custom millwork, and refined material selections. Strategic openings and thoughtful planning maximize natural light, balancing classic proportions with contemporary living. Outdoor spaces, such as terraces or rooftop areas, extend the home’s livability within the urban environment.
