Hampton Shingle Style
This custom residence in Southampton, New York, is currently in the permit approval phase and reinterprets the region’s historic shingle style through a refined, contemporary lens. Traditional elements—cedar shingles, gabled roofs, dormers, and expansive porches—are thoughtfully adapted for modern coastal living.
As architect, construction manager, and owner’s representative, I am leading the project through design development and entitlement, ensuring the architectural vision is maintained while navigating local zoning and regulatory requirements. Close coordination with consultants, engineers, and agencies supports efficient progress and design clarity.
The design prioritizes indoor-outdoor living with covered porches, terraces, and carefully framed views that engage the landscape. Natural materials, warm textures, and precise detailing create a cohesive environment that balances tradition with modern performance. Strategic openings enhance light, ventilation, and connection to the site.
This project reflects a focused approach to luxury residential architecture in the Hamptons, demonstrating how shingle style principles can be elevated for contemporary living within a refined coastal context.
